How I Work With You
Finding the right therapist is deeply personal—especially when you're grieving, navigating complicated emotions, or carrying pain that’s hard to name. My role is to accompany you with warmth, care, and clarity—as you begin to make meaning from your experience and move toward healing.
I offer a supportive therapeutic space that is:
- Relational — grounded in trust, empathy, and mutual respect
- Trauma-informed — moving at your pace, attuned to both past pain and present-day resilience
- Culturally aware — honouring the richness of your background, identity, and lived experience
- Integrative and holistic — using a blend of evidence-based approaches and embodied presence
You don’t have to fit into a narrow model of “well-being” to receive compassion here. Your grief, your anger, your confusion—even your silence—are welcome.
What Does “Trauma-Informed” Mean in Practice?
It means we work slowly and collaboratively. I won’t ask you to revisit painful memories before you feel ready. We pay close attention to safety, choice, and trust. Together, we learn how your nervous system responds to the world—and how to bring relief, balance, and grounding into your daily life.
Cultural Identity, Belonging, and Grief
Our experiences of pain, loss, and healing are shaped by culture, family, language, history, and community.
Many of my clients are navigating not only personal grief, but also:
- Cultural bereavement or dislocation
- Migration trauma or a sense of placelessness
- The emotional impact of racism, marginalisation, or inherited trauma
- Complex family dynamics shaped by generational or societal pressuresI offer a space in which your story is witnessed with depth and dignity, and where your emotional world can unfold without fear of judgment or misunderstanding.
An Integrative Approach
My foundation is in relational psychotherapy, enriched by training in:
- EMDR, to support trauma recovery and emotional processing
- Gestalt and body-focused awareness, to reconnect with your felt sense
- Mindfulness-based and somatic tools, to build presence and resilience
- Narrative and meaning-making therapies, to help you understand the arc of your inner life
I adapt my approach to meet your evolving needs—whether you’re grieving a loss, processing trauma, questioning your sense of self, or seeking steadier ground.
Begin Where You Are
You're welcome to bring your whole self into the room—even the parts that feel messy, numb, unsure, or afraid. Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It's about creating space for the parts of you that need to be heard, understood, and supported.
If you’d like to explore working together, you can get in touch for a brief consultation.
Everyone has their own story to tell. And so far, mine has been anything but ordinary! I navigated my share of stumbling blocks along the way (especially in the early days). But there was always one constant—the drive to perfect my craft and gain the skills to become a recognized expert in my field. I've never lost my desire to learn and, even now, I'm still honing my strategy with each new challenge. Today, my mission is to help more people like you to lay the groundwork for lasting success.
