Finding Home Within Yourself After Uprooting
Moving countries changes far more than an address. It can mean losing a familiar language, community, status, rhythms and a sense of who you are. This online group offers a gentle, structured space to explore cultural and personal loss, feel less alone in your experience, and begin to build an inner sense of home and belonging wherever you are now.
Who is this group for?
This group is for you if:
- You have moved countries, or grown up between cultures, and often feel “out of place” where you live now.
- You notice grief or longing for “the life left behind” – people, places, roles, language, or identity.
- You feel in‑between cultures – not fully from “here” or “there” – and want to make sense of who you are now.
- You would like simple tools to support your nervous system when loneliness, anxiety or disconnection show up.
- You are broadly managing day‑to‑day life and feel ready for gentle exploration in a small, confidential group.
This group is not for you if:
- You are in active crisis (for example: current suicidal intent, self‑harm that feels out of control, or recent hospitalisation).
- You are struggling with untreated psychosis, severe addiction, or an eating disorder that needs specialist support.
- Your immigration/housing situation is so unstable that attending regularly would be very difficult.
- You are looking for intensive trauma processing or emergency support rather than a psychoeducational, reflective space.
If you’re unsure whether this is right for you, you’re welcome to contact me and we can think it through together.
You're not alone.
“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening — a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation.”

FAQ
What we explore together
Over 8 weeks, we will gently explore:
- The many forms of loss in uprooting – not only people, but places, language, roles and imagined futures.
- Cultural bereavement and “migratory grief”: why grieving a life left behind can be complex and lonely.
- Identity in the in‑between: who you are now, across cultures, histories and roles.
- How uprooting can shape the nervous system – feeling on edge, numb, or never fully “at home” – and how to soften these patterns.
- Everyday rituals, relationships and practices that can support a deeper sense of inner home and belonging.
You will not be asked to share anything you don’t want to. There is always an option to pass, keep your camera off, or take a break.
What you might gain
By the end of the group, you may:
- Feel less alone and less “strange” in your experience of being uprooted.
- Have more language for the grief and complexity of your journey.
- Understand your nervous system responses and have a small set of personalised regulation tools.
- Feel a clearer sense of who you are now, and what helps you feel more at home in yourself.
- Have identified a handful of rituals, relationships and everyday choices that support you in this land, at this time.
