Therapy for people who feel far from home – in geography, body, or relationships.
Hi, I’m Daria (she/her)
I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner. My work centers around a questions: how can you feel more alive, and truly at home in yourself in your second half of life?
Many of people I work with are navigating grief, life transitions, and questions of identity, belonging and meaning. You might be grieving the death of a loved one, adjusting to a majour life change, or carrying pain that feels hard to name. Or you may simply sense that someing in your life, relationships or sense of self not longer quite fits, and feel drawn to explore who you are now and who you are becoming.
Therapy can offer a respectful, spacious place to reflect on these questions at your own pace: a space to make sense of your experiences, to listen more closely to yourself, and to consider what you want this next chapter of your life to stand for. Over time our work can help you restore the sense of aliveness, and discover what true belonging might mean for you now - in your body, in your relationships and wider world.
I work face-to-face in North London, and online with clients across the UK and internationally. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and shaped by an understanding of the social, cultural and political forces that influence our sense of safety, home and belonging.
I practice intersectionally, recognising that aspects of identity - such as race, culture, gender, sexuality, class, ability and religion - interact to shape not only how we experience loss and trauma, but also how we craft resilience, connection and meaning. Therapy can be a place to honour inherited stories, gently question those that constrain you, and imagine new ways of living that feel more aligned.
Having personally experienced bereavement, cultural displacement and relational trauma, I have a deep respect for how lonely and disorientating these experiences can be, even when life looks “fine” from the outside. Over time, a steady, compassionate therapeutic relationship can become a place where your grief, questions and longings are held with care, and where healing and growth can unfold—whether you are tending to old wounds, or exploring who you wish to be in the second half of your life.
You are not alone.
When you live a demanding life, and deal with day-to-day life responsibilities, it’s easy to forget to take care of yourself. I'm here to help you regain your authorship of life, one step at a time.
